Lisa Tran Kelly

25, Brisbane

Lisa Tran Kelly is a multidisciplinary Vietnamese/Australian emerging artist, from Brisbane. Lisa studied visual art and Psychology at QUT and a Masters of Social Work. She is currently completing her final placement at Visible Ink, a youth-arts hub where her love for art and community development has combined. Lisa currently works as an Eating Issues Practitioner at Eating Disorders QLD, and much of her therapeutic practice and approach flows through to her arts practice. Lisa has exhibited work in Brisbane, worked as a freelance mural artist and has held art workshops with schools, communities and NGOs. Lisa is passionate about utilising participatory development practice, learnt through her community development and therapeutic training, to actively work with communities to facilitate inclusive creative processes that enable participants to express their community identities and stories, and deliver public art works. Drawing from her studies, her personal artistic practice gravitates towards themes of nature and humanity and attempts to discuss the intersection of art, mental health and recovery. Her mediums include gouache, acrylics and gold leaf and float between mural work and illustration.
